Since 2020, our volunteer <strong>Direct Giving<\/strong> group has responded to about 140 requests for aid. We help in one or more of these ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"368\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/montclairmutualaid.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/gift-card.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1992\" srcset=\"https:\/\/montclairmutualaid.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/gift-card.png 368w, https:\/\/montclairmutualaid.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/gift-card-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/montclairmutualaid.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/gift-card-200x130.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 368px) 100vw, 368px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>offer <strong>information<\/strong> on local resources that may help with specific needs,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>referral<\/strong> to community groups and agencies that offer assistance,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>provide funds, in the form of <strong style=\"white-space:nowrap;\">gift cash cards<\/strong>, for immediate and short-term needs such as groceries or baby items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We require that gift card recipients be local, in Montclair or neighboring towns; we meet briefly in person with each recipient. There are no other requirements and no documents requested \u2013 only an urgent need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><s><strong>Request help<\/strong> from our Direct Giving group: <a href=\"http:\/\/tiny.one\/mtcma\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/tiny.one\/mtcma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tiny.one\/mtcma<\/a> or <span style=\"white-space: nowrap;\">+1 973-707-3355 x1<\/span>.<\/s> <span style=\"color:#c00000;\">As of August 2025, our Direct Giving <strong>urgent funds<\/strong> program is paused. We are not currently offering funds.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Volunteer<\/strong> to help run our Direct Giving group: <a href=\"http:\/\/tiny.one\/mtcma\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/tiny.one\/mtcma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tiny.one\/mtcma<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Donate cash<\/strong> for our Direct Giving program: online at our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeffy.com\/en-US\/donation-form\/donate-to-montclair-mutual-aid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zeffy page<\/a>, or mail a check to Montclair Mutual Aid, <span style=\"white-space: nowrap;\">PO Box 1773<\/span>, Montclair, <span style=\"white-space: nowrap;\">NJ 07042<\/span>.
