Since 2020, our volunteer Direct Giving group has responded to over 200 requests for aid. We fund this program with donations from generous Montclair area community members.
We help in one or more of these ways:
- Offering information on local resources that may help with specific needs
- Referrals to community groups and agencies that offer assistance
- Provide funds in the form of direct rental or utility payments and grocery or transportation gift cards
We require that aid recipients be located in the Montclair area. Rental or utility payments will be made directly to landlords or utility/phone companies. For gift cards, we meet briefly in person with each recipient. There are no other requirements and no documents requested – only an urgent need.
