Montclair Mutual Aid Community Giving
Direct giving and resources for community members
Monthly Community Freeshares
Montclair Mutual Aid holds community freeshare events in Glenfield Park (in the picnic area), where we share food, clothing, feminine hygiene products, housewares, and other seasonal items.
Direct Giving
The Montclair Mutual Aid direct giving initiative is designed to provide immediate support to those who are facing financial hardships or other challenges.
Through this program, we aim to address both the financial and emotional burden that can weigh on individuals and families during tough times.
This initiative reflects our core belief that no one should have to face adversity alone. It’s not just about the funds we provide, but the hope and dignity that come with knowing that others care and are here to lend a helping hand when it’s most needed.
Ways we can help:
- Utility or phone bill payments
- Groceries or other items
- Public transportation
- Payments towards rent
Guidelines
In order to qualify for direct giving, the community member must be able to:
- Meet in person in the Montclair area to receive the funds for utilities or transportation, or provide account/landlord information so we can make a direct rent or bill payment.
- Not have received any direct giving funds within the past six months to ensure that we can help as many community members as possible.
- Fill out our contact form to request the funds.
If you know of someone in need, you may also make the request on their behalf, as long as they meet the above criteria.
