Wellness checks for elder or infirm neighbors. Get-to-know-you block events. HOME GOODS – Help people to find free/inexpensive items via freeshop, Buy Nothing, Curb Alert, Freecycle, swaps, thrift shops, etc. Clothing, furniture, blankets, towels, toiletries, diapers, school supplies, heaters, air conditioners, cars, bikes, ... HOME SERVICES – Snow shoveling, lawn raking, yard work, repair/upkeep help for seniors or people with disabilities. HEALTH AND MENTAL HEALTH – Clinic referrals. First aid skills. Support groups. SKILL EDUCATION – Share skills for self-sufficiency, community participation, economic uplift, etc. Educational events. FOOD FOOD DIGNITY – Educate businesses about reducing stigma and discrimination for programs like EBT, SNAP. FOOD INSECURITY – Review our local grocery situation, and help make nutritious foods more easily available. FOOD COOP – Bulk shopping, community share distribution, coop store, free aisle. FEED-A-BUDDY – Pay-it-forward program allowing people to pick up prepaid food bags at local grocery stores. FOOD COORDINATION – Work with all local food aid organizations to help minimize overlap and maximize coverage. DEMO/TEACH nutritious, efficient, inexpensive cooking. GUERRILLA GARDENING – food gardens in neighborhoods.
